ok 2nd try

yeah i don't wanna give up this blog just like that. for those of you who actually stop by here now and then to see what i''m doing, i should keep writing. at least when i can find a somewhat ok computer :) this one is good, hasn't freaked out on me yet.
so yeah, what i was writing when the other computer crashed was what i have been doing since i came to borneo.
i spent the first two nights and one day in sandakan. i didn't like that city. not at all actually. the hostel was nice and the man working there so sweet. he helped me with everything. i was pretty much the only person staying there so i got special treatment. it was good. the whole room for myself :) but the city in itself, bluah. it smelled bad. and it was dirty and lots of people. no i just didn't like it.
the second day i went on a trip to the gomatong caves. the man at my hostel booked the trip for me. he was like: yeah they have one spot left.
when someone says that, you kinda expect the tour to have at least four people on it. one spot left.
i was the only person on the tour. this man came to pick me up. his friend was driving. they were really nice but it felt weird. none of them spoke english very well, so it was a pretty quite trip. i just sat there, and thought, what if they kidnap me? why am i alone? why did i go to borneo alone?
i was kinda freaking out. for no reason really. but it felt weird. i had expected all these people on a tour, and there i am, alone with people i can't really communicate to.
anyways, we came to the caves. on the way to the trail, the men stops and are like: look. look!!
there, like 2 metres away from us, is a wild orangutang. a young male. eating leaves in a tree. so so so cool. when we tried to get closer to take pics, it started to shake the branches to scare us of. i wasn't feeling like wrestling a male orangutang so i backed off. but they guys went closer. eventually the animal went underneath the tre to hide. so cute. he put his hands over his face and peeked on us. so shy. i got one shot of him, very blurry but still. it was cool
the cave was awesome too. full of bats and birds, and their poop. it's like a guano cave. you, know. ace ventura. guano.
they harvest the cave 3 times a year for the poop. sell it for a loooot of money. people eat it i think. yum...

after the cave we went to this lodge in the jungle. there, finally, i saw some more tourists. they're all really nice. we went on a evening boattour on the river. saw a lot of monkeys, the ones with the big, long noses you know. there are orangutangs and elephants there too, but we didn't see any. they saw some the day before though.
we did see a crocodile. it was cool

later we went on a nike trekk. so awesome. i loved it. it was dark, there was lightning, it was just magic. we saw birds and insects, but not much more. i wantd to see the cats. i had no idea bornoe had so many cool animals. cats, squirells, all kinds of cool mammals.
man, the mosquitos bite me everywhere... i'm so on the clock with my malariapills. i do not wanna catch malaria.
well, this computer is good but typing here is awful. this table is no good.
i've gotta go anyways. catch some sleep. went up at 5 this morning to pack, and then go on the morning boatride. we saw an orangutang. faaar faar away in the tree, sleepy.
tomorrow i'm going snorkling om mabul island.
i'm in semporna now btw. a very cute harbour town.
i'll write more later. take care <3
